When it's too hot to turn on the oven, take your pizza out to the barbecue for a grilled treat! Grilled pizzas cook up quick so an easily melted cheese like our Monterey Jack is a great choice for this dish.
For an even easier meal, use a premade pizza dough.
Follow directions on your pizza dough to the step right before you are instructed to roll it out. Separate your dough into 4-6 smaller portions and roll/press into rounds. Brush both sides with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
Heat your grill. Brush a high heat oil on the grate right before you place your dough on the grill.
Gently drape dough onto grill. Grill until golden brown on bottom.
Flip or remove from grill, cover cooked side with sauce, Monterey Jack and toppings, return to grill and cook through.
This is a very flexible recipe. Add as many or as few toppings as you want! Fresh herbs really spark up the flavor, and sprinkling the crust with garlic powder is delicious. For thick toppings such as onion or mushrooms, you might want to par cook them since the pizzas cook fairly quickly.
