Baked Cheese Curds are Snack Goals
Fried cheese curds are a never say no kind of treat. At our annual anniversary celebration each May, the line for fried Face Rock Cheese Curds is steady from open to close. And we are beyond excited to be offering fried cheese curds on our year-round menu at our new Coos Bay Village store!
Why are fried curds so magical? Cheese curds are fresh, baby cheddar chunks right out of the vat, which means they are full of moisture, and at their most tender thanks to the high butterfat content of our rich Coquille Valley-sourced milk. When heated at high temps for a short cook time, curds are incredibly meltable and smooth with a perfect cheese pull consistency.
To enjoy a fried curd experience at home, you have a few options. You can indeed batter and fry curds in a fry machine or in a deep sturdy pot on the stovetop, or you can make a baked or air fried version. All will give you a magical experience that will take you away on a melted cheese wave of bliss.
